A total of 15,297 new infections – second highest figure since the start of the pandemic. In addition, there are 42 new deaths related to Covid-19.
On Saturday, 15,297 new Corona cases were reported in Austria. This is the second-highest figure since the pandemic began about a year and a half ago, after a new record was set just Friday.
Today’s new infections are once again higher than the average of 13,496 over the past seven days, and there are now 144,442 active cases.
Intensive care units are currently seeing 524 patients – up four patients from the previous day. In normal wards, there are 2,881 patients.
In addition, there are 42 new deaths related to Covid 19 infection to report, bringing the pandemic death toll in Austria to 11,993 so far.
The provinces most affected are still Salzburg with a 7-day incidence of 1,774 and Upper Austria (1,670). Whereby in Salzburg a slight trend reversal can be observed for the first time – with today’s 1,606 new infections, the numbers are declining again for the first time. Declining figures are also recorded in Styria.
